Local Fish Club, thats very nice.
I doubt theres anything like that in Denmark. And if there where, i dont think it would be to series.

There are actually four LFCs in pittsburgh, a freshwater one (the one I am a member Of), a plant one, a saltwater one, and there is actually an entire (large) club for killifish. There are probably a few more minor ones but those are the big ones, where I live :). My LFC has monthly meetings with presentations (coincidentally this month is nano tanks and I'm just getting my new 2.5 gal off my friend), auctions of fish, inverts, plants, decor, a HUGE auction in May, and a bunch of other fun stuff. Last meeting here were a rare species of pleco there, Hypancistrus sp. (can't remember what l number it was but it had no common name and was very rare, the guy brought in 6 juvies about 1/2" each, said the parents were incredibly hard to breed and he only gets a few fry every few months). This is really not helping me to stop impulse buying, if I saw an albino achara there tonight I'd probably break and wind up bidding for it, then have to get a gigantic tank in 3 months.

Sounds good :D May i ask why you can get a bigger tank now, like an 180 or something :D? You can normaly find great prices if you buy used, atleast in Denmark :D

With a federal permit you can. Someday I plan on applying for one and of I get it set up like a 180 with three of them (wild color, piebald, and albino)... It's gonna happen, quote me now :)

Such permits are given only to research and educational institutions that satisfy very stringent criteria for keeping these or any member of the family Clariidae for that matter.

Permits are never, ever given to private owners.

I've had a few sessions with Florida Wildlife Commission officers on-site and they are advising me how to build my exhibits correctly so I could get permitted to keep restricted / conditional and prohibited species.

It's very serious. For some fish, the FWC won't give anyone any permits, like the red-belly piranha (in FL). An officer from Miami thought he could give me a few dozen of these (seized at the border) but the main office said no way, forget it, even with all the usual criteria satisfied. So the seized piranhas had to be euthanized.

Prior to that they had just put down couple dozen of arapaimas.

Well one, I just spent a lot on my entire 75 setup and two it would have to go in my basement which is being remodeled since my first floor would almost certainly collapse.

I wouldnt underestimate the power of a good floor :D I've had a 140g in 3 different apartments, and i know people who have had 720l in apartments :D!
Have you had your floor tested? I've heard that you can do some test, or have someone do a test of how much your floor can hold :D

Thats what I meant, it would have to be a natural albino which is incredibly rare. I'd go say $350.

No disrespect but I'll believe it when I see it. AFAIK, they are not "incredibly rare". They do not exist... if we are taking Leiarius...

I'd be thrilled to see the first one though...

im saying I've never, ever seen one. I suspect that about every animal can have an albino morph just some more commonly than others. I'm no expert on genetics though so I'd take your word for it.
