Domi from Hamburg/germany who has bred C. marulioides several times fed them on shrimp and söll pellets.

by the way, all my 14 species of Channa take pellets

wow its good to know they readily accept a wide variety of food.
btw brucki, all your channa on a 100% diet of pellets?
 
Hi,

no, i have a various diet, and pellets are part of it. I feed frozen lancefish,live insects,frozen and live shrimp,mosquito larva (frozen),....

All my snakeheads are fed on pellets (as well as other things).
My 3 juvi Pleuros are in pellet training at the moment.

Getting SHs onto pellets is a very cost effective and healthy way to feed them.

The original posters pic is Channa Marulioides. I know I have a bonded pair of them that I had since Juveniles!


Here is one of my Marulioides when I got him in December '09:

Will grow to about 26" and very thick.

what kind of fish is it and where can i get one??
 
read qhat you've quoted and you will see its Channa marulioides.
BTW all channa are illegal in the US, but there are wild living poulations of C. marulioides in Florida. Where you can fish for them and have a healthy meal put of them

Actually, they are C. marulius. There are plenty of them there. You can see youtube clips of people fishing for them there.
