Can you guys help me identify this cichlid? What kind of cichlid is it and is it a male or female? I got it from a guy who raised and sold it as a Red Texas but I want to come to the experts of MFK to determine that.

I want to say it just looks like a red Texas, but most don’t have the black stripe or that orange of coloration, so Vieja x flowerhorn is possible.
Looks like a hybrid parachromis. Maybe motaguensis or friedrichsthalii X quetzal
Definitely a vieja hybrid of some type. Honestly jealous of this fish the colors make me think of magma. Despite whatever hybrid he might be he’s definitely stunning
Looks like a possible veija x parachromis hybrid. Granted since it's a hybrid we can speculate all day and probably get no closer to an answer. Still a stunner tho, great find.
