None of the above look like cubans to me, unless they are totally stressed.
Even at 1" , true tetracanthus have very distinct characteristics, that stand out from other closely related cichlids like Parachromis or some other of their cousins.
Here a some 1"tetracanthus, note the large mid body spot.
and at 3" or so and with age the spot blends into distinct mottled vertical barring in females.

Sorry I must have read the title wrong, but at that size many (except tetracanthus and haitiensus look very similar, and hard to ID.
Since I've never had a tank large enough for umbi's
I've never kept them, and am no help there. Could very well be, but I wouldn't know..
