I am not one to ask about feeding regime, I only feed my fish once a day. It makes for slow growers but I feel it decreases bloat chances and makes for cleaner water. Some people feed much more then this. Do as you will, just feed a good quality pellet. I like to vary with crickets and worms. Occasionally throw a zucchini in there. But mainly I use NLS.

From 1-3 inches they where not shy at all. Very personable. However right when they hit that 3-4 inch mark and started getting alittle rough on each other, they got much more shy. Before I rejoined my single umbee survivor to my office aquarium he became a mix of shy and outgoing. While I wasn’t at the tank he was right up from looking and glaring at his reflection. However when I walked up he would zoom away to hide. This is good, it means their intelligent and is a mechanism for staying alive in the wild.
From what I understand they come out of their shell around the 10inch mark.

Thanks Very much !!!!

With majority of them letting me know that I have an Umbee at hand , I am glad I got what I intended to.
Off late I was seeing one getting a lil rough on the other and I could not handle it any more and I put a glass divider and secured it with styrofoam on the edges to avoid late night escapades n injury.
Strange thing though is , the aggressor seems to be ok with the partition and is normal , while the victim still paces around a lot in her section .... Experts any insight on this ?

It's just stressed from being picked on. It will calm down once it realizes the other can not get to it. Your best bet would be to keep that divider a permanent thing. After they hit a few inches long they become very agressive towards their own species and if not divided and you only have the 2, the more agressive will kill the weaker one
