Got this filter for free, don't know what it is. So I don't know which replacement cartridges to get.

Look on the motor or something for a brand name and start from there. It's not made by aquarium systems is it?

I don't recognize the filter. But, replacement cartridges are a scam. You can rinse and reuse them until they fall apart; then replace them with some filter sponge or polyfill.

Called a Penn Plax Cascade Power Filter 300. Thanks for the idea to look on the motor for the name. Would not of thought of that.

I knew it was some kind of Cascade filter. I've seen them at Meijer's.

i think thats an Aqueon brand. not sure looks similar to the HOB on drs f and s.

It's actually black, that's just light reflecting off of it.

Dang...black. I would have liked it if it was chrome. But it's not my filter.
