Don't know how it's alive but I'm almost sure that's a columbian shark. You can see the nice white/silver trim to the anal fins. Channels don't have that at any point in their lives from what I know.

Comparing vairious species of catifsh against the pictures I took, this is the conclusion I personally came to as well. I have virtually no catifsh experience though. The channel cat seems too bulky, this was a very long, very slender fish with it's fins usually pressed against it's body. I think it was like that because it was mistreated though. I bet if it was in more suitable water it would perk up and not be so spastic.
I guess this gives a pretty hefty majority vote to Columbian Shark. Are they worth anything at this large of a size? I have an excellent LFS that will give me some credit for the fish I cannot house properly.
Garbage food. I was literally shocked what he showed me that he was feeding. Some no nmae shrimp pellet that came in a yellow can (like presidents choice kind of thing), no name flake, and a small can of Hikari Gold that he fed the electric yellows and OB peacocks.
Could be worth asking that LFS if they'd pay for him or at least take him off your hands. Sadly a lot of people would say he's worthless since he appears to be scared. I'd pay good money for him if I was set up properly.
