Turns out it is a goldfish. We have told him to get a bigger tank for it already also.

Claims it's close to 20 years old. Claims its white color is due to it's age.

So mfk, what fish is this?

It is indeed a goldfish...probably just a feeder. They can be white when small too. It's not that big either, only 7".

7 inches may be big for non-MFKers.

Any idea on a specific species?

It's a Goldfish... I hope it's only in that thing for photographs. If not, the guy's a troll

Yeah, It's unfortunate that he keeps it in such a small tank. He says its been in there all it's life.

Get your buddy on here, we can help him create an amazing tank for this very nice looking goldie. Lupin will definitely be able to help him set up a nice tank. All goldfish are Carrasius auratus.

I actually never knew they were all the same species... Guess you learn something new everyday, lol.

A goldfish lol, they're all the same species regardless of "breed", Carassius auratus. I know it "needs" a big tank, but it looks healthy and I'm sure is much better off than being fed to someone's piranha...

LOL

thats a new one. if this guy walks into a pet shop he will see small white goldfish everywhere..white is just a colour form.

Lol, yeah. I was skeptical of that. Not to many animals change color with age.
