Yep, thats it. We call them Tailor here in Oz. Wasn't sure if it was because of the size, I usually catch them much larger.

it does look like a bluefish. you put that in a tank??? good luck. they get 15 pounds+ and are extremely aggressive.

Yeah, it's a Bluefish. I hope you are ready for a full saltwater 4' fish, and oceanic swimmer needing about 20 feet of swimming room that can't be kept with anything, lol

I'm not entirely sure if the not releasing stuff counts for saltwater...

not where i live. they max out around 16....well they are only here for a few months...they probally get bigger in warmer water

It's a Bluefish.

Near me (Long Island) they are very ommon and do travel wherever the baitfish are. If that means cruising up say the Nissequogue river(which eventually bcomes brackinsh) then so be it.

For anyone that has never caught one, do not stick your fingers in its mouth to remove the hook. They will tear you up with some nast teeth and jaws like a pitbull!

The do however make for great Giant Tuna baits!

yeah i live in connecticut so i catch them all the time in long island sound

I believe the World Record is 32lbs

I fished with the guy in NY who held the state record which I believe is 25lbs or so. Name of the boat was Bluefin i think, Captain was Barry Potts or something along those lines. Good guy, typical Montauk ole Salty!

They make great bait for Big tuna! Me on the left of the first with a Bigeye of about 140lbs.
