ID this fish

Hi I bought that wee guy about 2 months ago at 2 inch after been told it was a Dovii. However after growing it out a bit Ive come to realize that even though it is a Parachromis it just doesn't seem to have the usual Dovii markings. Its lateral line is really faded and broken and it seems to have spots on its belly. Its in the tank with a male Grammode and a currently unsexed 3 inch Dovii and it looks slightly different. Its always been that gold color so I thought it was a Costa Rican. Sorry for the bad quality photo.

I agree that it does look parachromis. It could be a female dovii, but it is hard to tell.

Id dont even know what it could possibly,has to be some kind of para. hybrid that looks different when its a juvie

Thats what I thought kinda looks like a jag. Its markings arent always that clear though. Thought it might be a male jag but doesnt look like it has enough markings. Could it possibly be a dovii x jag?

Nope...Its just a regular Managuensis imo..

Do u think its male? Hasnt ever shown any vertical striping. I had a 2 inch honduran jag male in my grow out for a mate yesterday and it did look similar but not exactly the same

Yea, Definitely a jag. It's either stressed, or it COULD be a hybrid.. Dunno what with though. Only time will tell
