Almost look like a poor colored German red peacock he looks like he is still young however I could be wrong but it is definitely a peacock and 100% not a borleyi

I'm guessing bi-color or red shoulder. Definitely a male peacock. He looks about 3" and gotten bitten from other fish? I would give him a few months and you'll see he holds his ground
 
He's a little over two inches right now. You think nls will have that much of an affect? There diet is: all am feedings are pellets, pm feeding switches between spirulina pellets, blood worms, brine shrimp, and krill

NLS could help and if it didnt help his color its still good for his diet but if he's only at 2 inches give him time to mature and allow his colors to come out time will tell if he will be a true stunner when I was breeding Africans sometimes it would take a full year to year and a half for some of my males to mature and show they're full potential be patient and keep good water quality only time will tell
