6 to 8 inches i have one thats about 10in tho but usualy they get 8inches

yep, 8 inches is pretty standard. The fins are what I love about the fish. Expect a fat belly on him too.

If it's not a feather fin it's a
Lace Synodontis (Synodontis nigrita)

It's not a S. nigrita, and certainly not S. euptera. Your fish is a Synodontis nigromaculata, maximum size: a little over 13".

its a juvenile, I have 4 and they all looked like that till they got bigger. The high fin develops later.

S. euptera look like this as juvies:

They don't look much like the OP's fish at any stage of life.

No problem. I learned most of what I know about synos just from reading through profiles on PC and fishbase.
