I'd say dovii...what do you think it is? I know you know your stuff so usually I look to your posts for good info...

Uh. Okay. I haven't had a dovii before but the shape of the mouth and the overall coloration look very doviish to me. There is a lot of black at the base of the pectoral fin which I have seen in others dovii. Black specs on scales on the flanks also remind me of dovii. It was given to me as a red tiger motag, and I really don't think it is one.

Yep. I'm needing some Parachromis ID too.

I had some responses on WW to these pics. Everyone says it is a dovii. The fish is 2 inches long and was supposed to be a red tiger motaguense that was wild caught in the Rio Blanco in Honduras. I figured I might get some of you folks to take a look at it too.

1st pic with wakeup pattern.

If it is a dovii I may keep it in the 75 gallon as long as I can. Then I know I will have to move up to at least a 180 gallon if I keep it.

This is for comparison sake...Sorry for the long quote, I think you have a dovii....Here is mine.

Gosh! It looks like the same damn fish!

dang cant see the pic but i can see darthhodos thow and it looks like a dovii

LOL, it's a 1.5" fry, since I caught the fish in the Rio Blanco near Copan, the only Parachromis in the Rio Blanco are motoguense and Dovii don't start showing up in Honduras for several hundred miles south of there. Closest place to there we caught Dovii were in the Rio Claro just west of Tujillio. You're all wrong! Plus I gave David the fish. Geesh. Ken

Ken, I ain't fussin about the fish at all. I like and appreciate the fish, I just wanted to check my hunch on what it was.

Gotta love that editorial option you got there. NOT! I changed b****in to fussin.
