I wouldnt be happy w that fish store, very irresponsible.

I agree because these are pretty damn far from being Aulonocara. From a totally different lake too.

Yeh, im pretty down about not having peacocks - i was looking forward to them growing up, n getting the peacock shape, but I admit, this is one of my favourite fish in the tank.
Could I still put in a trio of peacocks in with these? It's a 55g at the moment, but I will be upgrading to a 86g in a few months. The stocking list is given below:

5 yellow labs
3 blue zebras
3 yellow tail acei
1 aurateus male
2 johanii
5 what I think are blue tops (not sure tho)
5 of the rock kribensis

I'm also thinking about getting 1/2 BN plecs to keep the algae on the glass down.

All the fish are around 2-3 inches. Would it be ok to put in 3-5 peacocks? If so, any recommendations as to which ones?

Thanks!

I really wouldn't put peacocks in with those fish, they are too aggressive...Especially your Aurateus and Johanii. It is good you ended up with the 44's (thickskin') as they should be ok with the mbuna. Peacocks are pretty mild and won't be able to defend themselves.

Thanks fellas! I'm going to have to work on getting a new tank. Really want to get some peacocks. But I also like mbuna...any compatible mixes?
