In terms of care for your aquarium and whether or not it requires high light or co2 the two plants are not all that different. Both are moderate light plants which mean they can and do grow well in low tech tanks. As for not being able to id the plants to a further degree, both plants have similar structure and make-up one just gets a lot larger than the other. I doubt anyone could id those plants with any certainty with just those pictures and no history or growth pattern to compare it with. You can remain sarcastic if you like.

Well I was reading about the differences. Vallisneria will have more rounded tips whereas the sag will have pointed tips. If you can get a pic of the tips it would be easier to ID. I am actually looking for Vallisneria to add to my native tank. I have the sag already. Which is a native plant too.
