Lol you should be fine. Just a color morph happens all the time in the fish keeping industry. Heck look at koi fish you can practically get every single color you can imagine. Id pick him up, thats a cool looking pleco. Ive never seen any color morphs on a common pleco other than a big yellow dot on ones head at petco once. Didnt get it because I thought something was wrong. But you should be fine. Looks big and healthy.
 
Like someone already mentioned, its a color morph, happens in animal world all time. Several factors could affect it: environment, food, substrate, water quality etc.
