In the ops pics, it looked the ray was moving in one and stil in another. Now that you mention the height, I see it in one Picture. What are you seeig in the pattern? It's so washed out all I see is the very light markings around the disc edge. Is the substrate making the ray so washed out?
 
Well, let's just do it this way... I'll go buy it, but it in the substrateLESS tank, and see how it turns out?
