id this south american?

It could be a loisellei
but im going with Parachromis friedrichsthalii

also both these come under Central American Cichlids ;)
 
It's hard to tell from the photos, but I think they are Parachromis loisellei.

Here's a photo of my female loisellei:

They all have the black blotches (squares) down the middle, and lack vertical stripes.

I also have a female friedrichsthalii. Here's a video for comparison:

Could be either IMO, Parachromis friedrichsthalii 'Cenote Escondido' or Parachromis loisellei. They look more like P. loisellei to me though. Freddies tend to show their barring more often.
