ID this syndontis please

There's one of those at my lfs that's been there for months. I'd love to own that fish, but my tank is already overstocked as it is. 
mine was about the size yours is now when i got him so not sure how old he already was ... an LFS store was going out of business so the owner sold off his own stock.. any way you can tell how long the prior owner of yours had him..did he raise him up..love to know this answer myself...mason malawi;4398777; said:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. It is labeled as S. melanosticta (a much more rare species) but, I know for sure that it isn't. It has the exact body shape and coloration as S. frontosus. I think they have its price at around $100 (everything at that particular store that is over 6-8" is always overpriced).Red Devil;4398858; said:

mines grown about an inche or 2 in the last year, so i think he is still kinda young, my mum got him off a guy who supplies to large fish stores, i.e Pets At Home...
but he had never had a clue about him. so now here he is loving his life with afew cool tank mates haha
yours is beautiful. he looks just like the specimen showing what a sudan sqeaker looks like....
