Does anyone have a suspicion of what this cichlid is? It was sold to me as a Synspilum but I don't believe it is. It's between 1.5"-2", all pictures are the same fish. Thanks for your input in advance.
I wasn't sure if they stress bars would help or hinder in identification. I'm leaning towards guttalatum but I have no idea. Very tricky to ID at this size!
Even though I bought it thinking it was a Synspilum, I kind of hope it's a Zonatus. It was a pretty sketchy place I got it from... I was fairly certain when I got it that it wasn't what they said it was, but I knew it was something Vieja-like.
If it aint a Syn, the only other one it could be is a Fenestratum. I throw that in because of the stress bars it got. Looks awkward for a Syn or maybe I've never seen one so scared.
He wasn't a big fan of the camera. He scatters at light speed when someone tries to take his picture haha. He's very outgoing and never displays the stress bars otherwise.
