caught it in mumbai lake...

pics are taken via my mobile phone...if u cant id it i'll try and post better pics...

some interesting facts abt this fish....it changes it colour...from light green to dark black and visa versa...
most of the fry belong to the same fish as well

that's too bad, its the fish that is destroying the wild life in India. oreochromis mossambicus. its very prolific, probably the most widespread around the world. Its good fish for aquaculture, but also destroys some native fish habitat too

yep,its oreochromis mossambicus....i just checked it out...
didnt knw it was an invasive species...i was actually gonna introduce to a lake near by!
 
We have them in Florida too... but I think they were intentionally introduced there. Blue and Blackchins were, anyways.
