The first is Melancochromis joanjohnsonae, not L. textilis.
Just in case you're confused the CF profile photos are wrong and picture M. joanjohnsonae under the profile for L. textilis.

Really? What do textilis really look like then?

CF's profile for M. joanjohnsonae shows a blue fish?

Lol I am confused.

That's because the picture they show for the M. joanjohnsonae profile is a male. Males turn blue. Females and youngsters look like the picures in the L. textilis profile.

So how do you differentiate between the textilis and the female/juvi joanjohnsonae? They look the same to me, except that the anal fin is a little different, is that the difference?

First, it really helps that true Lab. textilis are hardly ever encountered in the hobby. Even those labelled as "textilis" at shops are M. joanjohnsonae most of the time.
Besides their rarity, L. textilis also shows a black edging to the anal fin which shows in both sexes and apparently youngsters. Female M. jj may not show this at all and if they do it's at a very mature age. Males show black edging as they mature.
The base color of Lab. textilis looks to be brown/olive, and the iridescent pattern looks to have much neater lines. M. jj base color is a very light color and can develop a light blue sheen especially around the face. This becomes obvious in males as they turn dark blue and may or may not keep some vertical barring. Overall they are more orange. Pattern is very narrow and neat in youngsters, adult females go a more pearly pattern as the light spots get larger and the orange in between these lines get smaller.
There is also the mouth. That of L. textilis is quite small and narrow - similar to that of L. fryeri. If you look at the mouths of M. jj their mouths are just slightly larger and wider with larger lips.
Male L. textilis do not turn blue, sexes look similar.
