I bought 8 of these guys in march. I kept 4 and 4 went to a friend. They were supposed to be synspillums. Of the 8, half have turned orange like a red devil. Some still have some black spots. The other half are showing correct color. They all started out the same color and changed atabout 2 inches. Just looking for some confirmation.

They look like hybrids.
the first one has the face shape of a red devil but the lips and eyes of a vieja sp.
the second one is too dark really too tell but to me it just looks like some kind of Vieja hybrid also, maybe its a pure vieja I can't really tell.
hopefully some other people will chime in and let you know.
either way that first fish is pretty cool looking, I'd buy him if i saw him

Rose Queen. Its a hybrid.

Yup rose queen. Looks just like mine old guy. Mean mofos. Its a form of flowerhorn. You'll get more info in the hybrid section.

thanks, i'm wondering if they had batch mixed together. The largest one is displaying the same coloring as the synspilum I used to have. Then again it's probably a hybrid to. It's been a couple of months since they changed color.
