those are not gar! they are pike characin which look like gar(IMO I don't know how people think they look like gar)! Take a look at all 7 species of gar here http://lepisosteidae.net/index_files/Page1134.htm and tell me what kind of "gar" did you see!

shut down is just 1 part, there will be a lot of fines and jail time for the owner of that store. Some people will report them sooner or later, and there are also reward for reporting of selling illegal fish too!
BTW, that fish should be Alligator gar, Cuban gar don't go that cheap!
