Can anyone id this sev. I've had pics of it up in my heros notatus thread when it was first bought but its grown and changed alot from then. The background of the fish is it was bought as a heros notatus but is nothing like the rest of our young notatus we have.

Looks Rockiel/Red shoulder to me. Where did you buy it as a notatus?

At a lfs. We'd already bought 2 batches of young notatus from different sources and when we seen this one we got it to see how it turned out. We breed our own Rotkiel and at this size they are usually showing the red shoulder. Plus it has 9 bars not 8 like a rotkiel

Could be a mix(rotkeilXappendiculatus), but its not notatus. I had a couple that I traded in that looked similiar.

The fish in question looks to be Heros sp. "Tapajos", with red nose/face/jaw instead of should. Last time they were available in the US was about three years ago when Jeff imported a batch.
