The fish in question looks to be Heros sp. "Tapajos", with red nose/face/jaw instead of should. Last time they were available in the US was about three years ago when Jeff imported a batch.

It does appear to be Tapajos. The ones Jeff brought in turned out looking like rotkeil with a red shoulder and not a red nose. Here is what they look like from Amazon Exotic:

I did think tapajo but the darker horizontal markings threw me but then lighting in the tank makes a lot of difference. Do both male or female have the red markings on the face. I haven't been able to find much info on them. so far it has no markings on the gill plates.

I don't know a lot about them as mine didn't turn out to look anything like the ones online. Here's another couple of pictures. Notice the second fish has a red nose but no other markings on the body and face. It appears to be female.

Yeh I see what you mean Ryan. They have at least another 10 still in the tank that aren't selling and they're still half the size of ours. You don't realise how much your fish grow when they get out of the tiny store tanks. The rest still have no markings at all just look like regular greens the way ours did when we first got him
