Experts say it is one of the Tiger shovel noses (a genus of Pseudoplatystoma in Pimelodidae family) crossed with a cat from the Doradidae family, chances are Oxydoras niger.

IME, I've never seen it live and this is a third photographed specimen I've ever seen. Hence, very rare. The experience of others probably differs. It is made for food in SA, just like other hybrids - TSNxRTC, TSNxPlaniceps, TSNxLeiarius, RTCxPangasius, etc. - so if there was a demand many will appear in the ornamental fish trade sooner or later.
