I just found this dead in my pond, what is it?

I just remembered I put an Oscar in there about 2 years ago, maybe that' it? The body seems a bit slender but it's the only thing I can think of.

That was my first guess before I saw you 2nd post. I have no idea though.

its a wild type oscar has the eyespot and you can faintly see the pattern as well

That tail spot is why Oscars received their real name, ia Astronotus ocellatus (ocelli, meaning eye spot)

I would say 3 inches, he was a little fella. I actually kinda forgot he was In there so I didn't drop a heater in to give a warm spot to retreat too. Feel kinda bad but I literally hadn't of seen him in over a year so I assumed something had eaten him

He mentioned a heater so I wasn't sure where he was located and it doesn't much matter if the fish is considered an invasive since it was kept in the closed property of his pond.
