Also with more wattage comes brighter lights. Plecos hate light to begin with. Never seen a herbivorus pleco that didn't take to zucchini. Just give them time. Take it out after a day because it can really pollute.
so i went to wally world last night and got a organic zucchini and i put 2 pieces in a 20 gallon tank. they were close to a half of in think. So i got home today from work and i could see them eating some of it. so i left for 5 hours and i just got home and both of the inside of the zucchini was gone and now i just had the skin. so i take it they love this new kind zucchini that i got.
smart variation on a common idea, my friend.
As long as they eat it.
lol, it keeps them busy, rasping away.
Mine often spend more than 12 hours just eating and eating.
mine will readily take cucumber, lettuce leafs and peas. this is for the common bristlenose and pleco's that i keep. they also enjoy the elodea and duckweed i take from my pond
