Ideal aggressive fish for a 55 gallon tank?

Hey everyone,

I'd really love to hear your opinion about which aggressive fish would work out okay for a 55 gallon tank. Unfortunately I didn't realize I'd end up with CA/SA cichlids when I created the thread so I ended up putting it on the wrong forum section. So I hope you don't mind if I just link you guys to my first thread so we can consolidate everyone's suggestions.

I think they will all do fine in a 55 long term. Just remember that every now and then you get a beast that hits the max size. And a 12 inch fish in 55 doesn't work out too well.
A pair of sals will do fine in a 55 long term. For the sake of experiencing an aggressive fish though I think you should go with the grammode. The only time you'll see the salvini aggression is when they have tank mates or when the male decides he wants to kill the female.

I'm not experienced in the parachromis. Nor have I heard too mush about Freddies or the other one you listed. But I'm sure others here are.

If it was me, I'd order an nice male Carpintis (Escondido, Chairel, Or Vontehillo). They rarely surpass 9-10", and don't grow nearly as fast as some of the other CA's. IMO, they are one of the most gorgeous fish in the hobby. Large males are interactive, aggressive, and absolutely stunning once they reach maturity. I know that Rapps has some 1-2" Vontehillos in stock right now. I wish I had space for some......lol

AGGRESIVVVE, 1?male grammode, female hatian cichlid....2?salvani male ,female red terror...3?male jewel,female salvani,female sveni pike or belly crawler ,,,4?2 dwarf pikes and 3 turquoise jewels. or5? ,,,red hi fin wolf fish real attitude

That carpentis looks really nice, Manu! I didn't know their colors can look that good.

Right now, I'm debating between a grammode, a carpentis and a pair of salvinis. I'm going to check the LFS in our area to see if they have any of those in stock. If not, then I guess I'll see if I can get one shipped. Aside from Jeff Raps, are there any other MFK vendors that you guys can recommend? Has anyone ever ordered from Cichlid Connections?
