Okay so like most people I am looking for my ideal fish. I am getting a 120 or larger gallonage aquarium so I would like to have a catfish that is around 12" or smaller. I like the look of channel catfish with their long sleek bodies and their barbels. I would like something of similar look and something ideally small. Nothing bigger than 14"! Okay so any ideas no worries of my stock. I will be moving my stock to different tanks. I am thinking of getting a small channel catfish then releasing it into my pond with other channel catfish. But I want something that is like similar feeding habits and sizes to a 1 year old channel catfish. No red tails! They are awesome and all but way too big. I had my mind set on Colombian sharks but they need salt water eventually and that won't work with me. So any fish like a Colombian shark? I Like striped rafaels and spotted rafaels as well as pictus cats. Just no upside down catfish as they freak me out! Lol

I just went to petsmart and I saw the eclipse catfish and this is the first time I heard of them and as soon as I saw it I knew im getting one and I didn't get any this time because it could easily swallow my baby jd and that was the smallest one they had it was like 6" others were like 7" so I ended up picking up another jack Dempsey which is around 3" as well as my other one and I picked up some rosy reds and some plecos but I will see how this turns out

Put your Oscar and your 2 JDs in the 120. You can get a catfish after you get your current fish appropriate aquarium sizes.

My Oscar was eaten by the turtles so no oscar just 3 jds because I picked up another one yesterday and I might be getting like a 180 because I might get it custom to my area of placement (room) but the three jds haven't really grown that much at all except the one which is like 2.5"-3" and I might get rid of them when they are too big. I'm not sure yet but a pair of jds can live in supposedly a 90 happily and not safely a 75 I never said this but a person online fir Oscar care said this. But a 90 is pretty big so I wouldn't doubt that but a 75? Really! I could probably get away with a pair in a 120 but the third wheel will guarantee get killed as the one is contstantly picking on it and growing faster
