Ideal aquarium for a jag

17" height wouldn't put me off as much as only 18" wide.
Go for the 180g, whats a couple of extra months saving in relation to how long you're going to have the tank/fish for.....

Heres the biggest money saver, buy second hand. For what you pay, the tank has probably been used for less then 2 years and is now 1/3-1/5 the price of a new one.

Second hand is the way to go. If I had the choice screw the 135 I would go with the 125 or the 180. I like larger footprint tanks. My 125 suits my pair of jags well with a 125x18 footprint but I am sure they would be much happier with a 24" wide tank. Mine like to speed around the tank and don't care for the 22" height much but a deeper wide long tank is great to have like the 180.

Thanks for everyone's input. Like I said, I still have some time to think about it. hopefully, a good deal on craigslist will come along. I haven't had any luck getting replies on my interest in a few smaller aquariums, though.

the bigger the better and if you get the 180 im sure you could do a breeding pair of manguense

i agree. imo lenght and width is more impotant for a jag but 17" depth is a little shallow.
