right, went for an 8x3x3, so thats half my living room gone lol. wasnt quite the 80 i got told including glass.
so far its £116 for the wood and £35 (with discount) for the sealant.
so its been built (minus glass and runners) and iv put the other vivs on top of it to get them out the way.
over this wknd i will be sealing it. do it tonight, then tomo give it a light wipe over with sandpaper, then seal it again. then the next night, sanpaper and seal. then monday hopefully wer going to get the glass and runners.
im going to get a small pond to put in there so he can have a good soak and fit his whole body in. then over that im going to fix in a 5ft log at and angle over the pond, so he can climb if he wants and then hide at the other end.

not sure what his hide is going to be now. may get a dog basket then try and disguise it with some sphagnum moss.
and as substrate go with some orchid bark, it should hold the humidity in the tank better than newspaper lol. i will prob end up changing it to newspaper eventually after changing it every time he wees lol but still, the size it is i want it to be attractive.
will get pics up soon x

Have you thought about tile for the bottom? That's what we are doing in one of the cages we have. Found some nice textured stuff. When the snake uses the bathroom can just wipe it up and it's easy to sanitize. Just a thought :)

no i havnt, purely because it is soooo cold over here. majority of the time it around 1 degrees lol i know obv i will have heat lamps in there but i just think it will be too cold.

I thought so too but the tile actually warms up quite nice with the heat lamps on it. Then again the house only gets like 70 at the lowest so...yeah.

8'x3'x2' Sentec cage, under tank heater.
Water dish on the cold side.
Newspaper substrate.
Done.

For burms, keep it simple, they're large snakes and will knock/tip most things over.
Also, have you seen a burms crap? You better get a shovel.

ok, well the burms near on 12ft lol and hes my baby. im just upgrading his tank. explained as above. gone 8x3x3, 250w ceramic heat lamp, pond for water bowl/bath, actually going to give him an orchid bark/mulch substrate for once instead of newspaper as it will keep the humidity up better. and he will have a huge branch for him to climb (if he doesnt use it then i will take it out) not sure what im going to use for hides yet. hes got a dog basket now, but i may get him a new one and coat it in moss. make it all a bit more natural as he has more space in my living room than i do lol

only of the finished build, im just giving it coats of pond sealer, which is started last night, then do the next coat tonight and another tomo night then thats done and we can get the glass sorted.
should b finished, or on its way by friday.
was guna put pics up all in one, but i shall pop the ones iv got up now x

as i said, just the shell atm, the sealer and silicone and him being nosy.
to give u an idea of size, the wooden viv on top of it is 4x2x2ft
