Why not Datnoids?

I tried the dats and pretty much hated them. They looked so cool in the videos I watched but it's a totally different ball game owning them they always hide and only ever want to eat silver sides plus they really aren't overly aggressive eaters. They may eat they may not eat. They always run from me and were only really cruising the tank at night. I am the type of person who loves to see the fish swim around and beg for food and just look awesome not hide in the corner and maybe come out for five minutes a day and actually cruise. That's why I like the schooling fish they just never stop moving and just look nice! I like colorful fish and they don't have to be aggressive just good eaters and something to just look colorful. I just like movement I like to see them swim around. I don't want anything prone to parasite or disease or ick for the obvious reasons of wanting to have a healthy tank.

Dats do better with just one per tank

I kept a group of Geophagus winemilleri with a pair of Leos for over a year in a 300 gallon. One of the best combinations I have ever done. The Geos maxed out at 8-9 inches and did a great job cleaning up for the rays. I sold the rays when they hit sexual maturity and moved on to other fish, but I never noticed any aggression problems. Video of the set up here:
