Dun set the temp too warm for with lesser water in there, heat will exhuast the oxygen in the water real fast. Keep the temp at 28'C will be fine. A flow of aeration is preferred to circulate the water abit in there.
that's very true. there is a place on the filter for an air tube, so I will add that to help oxygenate the water some more, although I do have the outlet pointed at the surface so it breaks it up. I will get a real thermometer for the tank (have a stick-on one right now) so I can keep it at exactly 28C, which is about 83F

Those stick on one are never accurate to start with:D

Anyone else have any input?

There was a shipping error on my part and we will not see the fish till Tuesday, now.

Well this is what I've got going,(ofcourse it will have to stay empty for a few more days:irked::nilly::grinno:) I have a 55g with a xp3 filter and an air stone. Thank is 2/3 full of water, the output of the xp3 is directed to minimize surface current. I also have an abundance of floating plants, large piece of driftwood and going barebottom. May ad some type of bottom dweller, but most likely no tankmates for awhile.

it's okay, to be irked at me, brian. I am at myself, too, lol. I will add a floating plant or two and I still need to add the air line. yes, i know the cords are a mess; i am going to fix them up tomorrow. i am also going to get a sponge filter and put in there. btw, brian, do you know any LFS that sell sponge filters? I can't find any for some stupid reason. I was going to make my own, but they're cheap enough that I will just buy one. it appears that there's a good chance that they won't still have the yolksack. I am getting a 2-3" juruense cat with the aro in the same shipment. should I put it in w/ the aro or put it in another growout tank? i was going to leave it by itself, but was just wondering about that. how often should I vac and change the water?

here's mine as of right now...

Paul, I'm just goofing with ya, actually I'm glad it happened. If the aro would've come in yesterday, I wouldn't have been out at the fish stores and likely would not have found the Gold Saum I picked up.

Golden Fish and Fish Den both have sponge filters, I saw them yesterday

i might just have to go to golden fish, then and pick up an albino sen, too. thanks.

according to the last post of his, none of them have the sack anymore :)

...and they don't. I just got them in their new tank (temp for 1, semi-perm for the other). Pic posted in baby aros thread.
