Here are some pictures of some fish i highly recommend for a 29 gallon planted
The Goo-obo Gudgeon can have a breeding colony of 6-8 fish in a 29 gallon planted. These fish breed at least twice a month so they will produce food for your bigger fish. The last picture is from aquabid.

Wow the last pic of the planted aquarium is really nice !

I have never really kept live plants in all my years of keeping fish they never last long enough do the cuttings. Or should i say i don't full know how to keep them they allways tend to go brown and wilt on me.

Anyone wanna give me some details on how to keep them for a longer period of time !

The only type of fish I would truly feel comfortable keeping in a 29 gallon tank in any numbers would be a handful of medium sized fish, something with slim-bodies. Like guppies, neon's, cories and a betta. plant it out co2 kit good light would look really nice or my fave 29 gallon dwarf cichlid tank get some Rams they are nice get a pair and bread them ideal in that tank look really nice

have a look at this

I agree they really do look nice. It would be cool also if you could mix the normal german blue ram with gold rams and if you luck online there are many other types of Rams Ive even seen them in a blue color, some are nice looking. :D

i just stocked my tall 29g had the same choice to make and since i already have dwarf africans i went common green tiger barbs put in 7 and a gold nugget i'm growing out looks great little buggers look and behave like mini pirahana havent fully planted it yet will after boxing day post some pics for ya

Discus need to be in groups of 4 or more, and just a single discus would grow to big for a 29 gallon.

Guppies, platies, mollies, etc., are livebearers, so you would soon have too many- they provide terrible nutrition when fed to other fish.

Just and idea that I'm working on~

When my goldfish move to their 90 gallon, I'll be putting my current 10 gallon residents in my 29 gallon (read my signature).

Then I'll add a few other fish, and these will be my final stocking levels:
6-9 Glowlight Tetras
2 Peru Orange Stripe Corydoras Catfish
2 Albino Corydoras Catfish
2 Panda OR Corydoras A. Catfish (non-albino cousins of albinos)
2 Bolivian Rams
2 Milk & Ink Platies
1 Sunset Platy

Total= 17-20 Fish

The cories provide a bottom layer of fish, the rams are lower/midwater fish, and the glowlights and platies are midwater/top water fish.

I plan to plant it with the plants currently in my 10 gallon (Java Fern, Corkscrew Vallisneria, Vallisneria Americana, Wisteria, and Rotala Indica). I will also add a nice piece of driftwood I picked up when I got my 90 gallon, plus some decorative fish-safe rocks, and I'll probably add a lotus and microswords.
