Thank you all,
firemouths and convicts would probably kill all dithers when breeding because of the limited space.
Is there anybody experiencend in keeping so called calm Krobias?
I don´t like the zebra acaras...

What about Guianacara?

I would keep a single Firemouth with some Serpae Tetra, i like the color dynamic. And Serpae should be tough/rowdy enough to stand up for themselves, maybe do 8+.

A female Salvini would be nice. Male could work, but females are prettier IMO. They would probably have to be alone though.

To be honest a fire mouth full grown with some nice gravel, furniture, and maybe some buenos Aries tetras (I think that's what they're called) would look really cool. If you've seen a full grown fire mouth you'd know what I'm talking about ;)

Pair of 5 star generals like in my avatar, males max out at 7inch females about 5inch... Get a group of 6 until a pair forms then move the rest out, maybe add a zebra plec too. Possibly run a sump for extra water volume.

Well people should not keep them in 29 gallon!
Females won't get much bigger than 5"
Males can get to 7"easily, some bigger.
And your right, it's not impossible, but it is bloody cruel.

That's a stretch... Think for any single cichlid less than 6" a 37 as a general rule, will work. To put it in perspective, saying a 6" fish won't work in a 37 is like saying a single male dovii won't fit in a 1,800 gallon tank... Granted it's not the exact same, but talking about tank lengths conpared to body lengths, that's the math.
