So I am wanting to redo the 55g tank in my office waiting room. The tank is extremely boring. Dull brown gravel, Giant danios, pleco, and a bunch of fake decorations. I want to put something semi-monster in there and ditch the gravel for sand and toss the decorations. Any ideas on a fish?

I'm in a very similar boat. I want a 2 or 3 6"-10" fish for my 55G. I currently have an mbuna tank and don't want to restock.

I thought about a single Oscar, but I want more than 1 fish and a 55G is on the small side for Oscars anway.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

small mbuna community, centered around electric yellows, very colorful and active...always good for a waiting room

That's what I was going to recommend as well. Not my cup of tea personally, but will be a pretty easy, colorful, attention-getting setup

The first thing that came to my mind was mbuna too. With some white sand and some nice white rock it would be nice.

If you wanted to do something new world, maybe some black sand and some nice apistos or rams.

Piranha or piranha look-alikes, like silver dollars. THen have a bunch of fake dismembered fingers and hand littering the bottom.

OHH man this would be ideal. I work with handicapped people on a daily basis. I think this would be a big hit.

Have you thought about converting it to saltwater they do really well in waiting rooms.

Be gone foul salties! Be gone! Freshwater for sure! I like Loaches, but cichlids are probably a bit lower maintenance...
