Yes the stand is bought from petco. Cheap I know but I honestly thought I'd have a good chance at getting a good stand... it seemed like only a small percentage of people didn't have this problem or are just stupid (according to the reviews)

And Ransome what do you mean exactly? I never tried contacting the manufacturer. I bought this stand like about a month ago and just opened it today (like an idiot).

I think your fine... have you set the tank on it yet?

If you assembled following the instructions I’d say ur good... put tank on....

First point is that the legs are what is supporting your stand so if those are secure that is one plus.

The cross pieces which fit slightly below the top of the legs are not really for support, but more to hold the legs in position. It would be bad if the legs at the ends were not securely held.

If all 4 corners were like this I would feel better. How long is the tank?

If it was a cheap stand, maybe just buy a better one. Especially if this is a long tank.

Did you have to assemble this stand, if so loosen the fasteners slightly so you can realign the frame.

To fix the problem with the stand, I went to home depot and stacked 2 pieces of plywood on top each other (which I spray painted). I feel like that will give it the support the tank needs since the corners of the stand aren’t flush. I didn’t like the filter the tank came with, so I put 2 marineland filters on there (200gph each). I also added some rock work and new plants (fake ones). I plan on getting more rocks soon but so far they’re enjoying it !
