I am in the process of setting up a 125 cichlid tank. I want to add a ray but am not sure exactly what to get. I've owned a motoro before and while he was extremely cool looking he wasnt very active and hid under sand most of the day. Basically i just need ideas of what exactly i should get. I want something that looks good and is atleast somewhat active. Also, if it could be kept somewhat cheap that'd be great :)

125 won't be big enough for a ray

Well depends on the size and species. But he will need to upgrade when it starts to enter adult hood.

125 isn't big enough for any species of adult ray.

Upgrading when? And to what size?

i obviously plan on upgrading
but your post was extremely helpful and worth my time

For those of us that have been here for a while, and have seen it time and time again, it is obviously NOT obvious. And, if you are like the masses, his post IS extremely helpful. ;)

Exactly^.

125 isn't big enough, putting a ray in with cichlids isn't a great idea either, it is even worse in a 125. If your last ray hid all the time it probably never really settled in.

people on here tend to talk to you as if it was your first day ever keeping fish..even though for most it's not even close...
