Facepalm. You can't keep a ray in a 125 gallon. How is that not helpful? I'm telling you that you cannot do what you're asking about.

Ok i will try and explain a bit better to house Decent sized Cichlids and a Ray if you start from Fry on the Cichlids and a pup on the Ray you have about a year before all the filtration in the world won't help ya just not enough water ..And i am assuming you allready know this ...So i am posting a pic of my set up and if ya like what ya see you can pm me for the questions you may have and i will do my best to answer any you have .....My tank is 675 gallons and with the filtration witch is always changing to fit the fish another 120 gallons of water and 6000 gallons per hour that's 100 gallons per minute circulation for nine Cichla and a Oscar all around or over 14 inches in a year and a half from Fry at about 1 1/2 ..The amount of poo they create is increadable LOL!!!!So i hope it does not sound snobby or like i am being a jerk but that is not very long that ya have...

I would recommend waiting until you have the bigger tank setup, or at least bought and in the process of setting up, before you get a ray. Life happens. When it does the last thing you want is a ray stuck in a 125 because 'will' turned into 'can't yet'.
