Hey. Im trying to think up of more ideas of adding bb. So far I have added bio-sponges to my filter. Is there anything else I can do, excluding buying another filter. Thanks.

That would depend on what kind of filters you currently have , how there set up and what size tank. If you have a canister you could try using some more effective media, if you have a sump, consider posting a picture of set up and Im sure someone can make some recommendations to improve effectiveness.

Well I have two tanks:
My 10 gallon I have an aqua-clear filter and have placed 4 bio-sponges in there.
Then I have a 46 gallon with a marineland penquin and fluval 305. I also put a bio-sponge in the marineland. I was thinking about putting bio-sponges at the top of the fluval above the plastic part that covers the trays. What is more effective media?

You could always just use ceramic rings to fill your filters and some of that eheim gravel. No need really for mechanical filtration as thats just for our own pleasure, and I believe 90% of ppl on this site doesn't use chem filtration. So, there ya go. Just dump rings in your tank and get a powerhead. Thats all you need.

I will be adding more fish since I have taken them out for me to cycle the 46 gallon. In the fluval, I have the 4 foams for my mechanical, 2 carbons for my chemical and the rest are the bio cermaic rings. I think I'll try adding some sponges in the trays or on top of the plastic piece and observe. If there are negative effects then I'll go back to stock. I'll check out that sea chem matrix stuff, thanks for that.

Eheim gravel? Im new to canister filters so I dont know what you're talking about but I will look it up now lol. So you suggest me taking out my carbons and filling it with what?

I think you have enough filtration already :)

Its like ehiem substrate pro or something along those lines. I've seen it in stores and it actually came in a used Fx5 I bought. I was joking in a serious way about the mechanical filtration. Yes, we all want clean crisp water but what keeps the nitrogen cycle alive is the bb that grows on surfaces, hence it is not an essential piece to keeping the cycle alive. Yes, I will tell anyone to replace chemical with more bio media. I don't use carbon and haven't in some time and don't plan on using. I also use temp and salt to treat diseases or fungus (which I've had little experience with) so my need for carbon is obsolete.
