Ideas for reducing feeding costs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Impressive! Glad to see this ops in TX.

I use only two feeds for every fish in my care - NLS std grade large 3mm and giant 10mm pellets (at $10/lb retail but I buy wholesale) and frozen bait fish of two sizes 2"-4" and 6"-10" (approx $1/lb). I presoak frozen in VitaChem.

My stock is roughly 10x larger than the listed by variety and probably 100x or more larger by weight.

Right now in the summer our fish consume 200 lbs of frozen alone a month.

I was debating on just contacting you directly but figured I'd do a public post so other people could see the results and get ideas on how to reduce their costs that way it will make it easier for people to keep monsters. I will try the NLS and see if I can figure out where to get frozen bait fish around here.

IMHumO this was the right call. Public is most usually the way to go. There is nothing private or personal in your inquiry, which is what the PMs are for and you are right, it's best for us all to learn together and you never know who might chime in and help out sooner or later.
