I recently acquired this huge twisted driftwood and thinking of using it on my tank. Tank size is 2.6meters x 1meter x 0.75meter (LWH). I prefer not to cut the wood as it's gorgeous so if i can fit it on the tank, a portion will be hanging out of the tank. Driftwood is about 3meters. Another problem will be the top bracing which will be a maneuvering nightmare just to get most of the wood in.
my big concern is the part outside leaning on the glass top frame may exert too much pressure on the tank. Taking out the top brace or getting a bigger tank is not a direction I want to take. Another concern if ever i can fit a big part of the wood inside is the open space - what can I use to cover the open top sections as my bichirs (ornates and endlis) and other fish may find their way out.
Not in a hurry to do this and want to know your thoughts on how to approach this.
