ideas on putting sumps on my 125 tank

The second overflow looks like it has little fall (mostly horizontal).

Horizontal flow rates are markedly less than vertical ones.

i will be trying to get as much height diff between the two tanks but ur right it will be alot less gradient, this is something me going to have to
 
changed idea going to use the two tanks as 1 sump, connecting them with pipes.

using the idea of the two glasses but on a bigger scale

Looking good, whoever made them sumps is a genious ;)
Hope your gona wait for pump m8 untill u set it running again, externals dont usually work well with sumps that low, they can but need to be fx5's, thats my 2 pennies anyway. U wana leave ur silicone to cure aswell, atleast 24hrs m8. For some reason i dont think thats your prob though.
