I need to know what breed it is so i can do a a little more reserch on it. i want to know what gender it is coz im planning to get one more to give it company. its approx 4inches in length, has yellow lines on its face, and yellow spots on its limbs. olive green to black coloured body. i hav added the pics for anyone to identify it. plz guys help me out. it will be really appreciated.

Looks amazon to me, also.

They get biggish

that is definitly no podocnemis unifilis. I have one myself and the head is totally different formed. That turtle looks like something from asia. It is a yellow headed temple turtle, called Heosemys annandalii. They get very big. Even bigger than Podocnemis. Yours looks wonderful. Very nice juvenile.

thx guys 4d help, but i read some abt the above turtle and i couldnt match it wid m9.. btw i hav it since 15days and till date it used to excrete a white paper thin plastic like material insoluble in water, but since 2days back it has started secreting some black ball like excretions,, is it normal. or do i need to show it to a vet. plz telme basic food requirements of turtle, i feed it turtle sticks as of now of 2different variants and give him calcium supplements. and what about the habitat. hes as of now living in a small water aquarium with water upto its shell level. i keep him on land for about 7-8hrs a day. is what all im doing alright??? and i live in india so maybe the turtle might be from an asian country nearby?? ny guesses ??

Juvi temple turtles nomaly have a yellow line across the carapax.
Also a black line across the eye.
The podocnemis has a greenish eye and no line across and the head markings can be very different on the podocnemis.

You could have a vet check the feces to be on the safe side.
For good info on this turtle you could go to world chelonian trust.

It is definitly a yellow headed temple turtle.

Podocnemis look cooletly different in head shape. Look here, that is a Podocnemis. The head looks totally different
