Caught in Tampa Bay. One person said its a bat fish, another said its a lawnmower fish.

Thank you! its a pretty sweet fish, we feed it all sorts of stuff. My friend thought he could put another fish in the tank and bought a decent size damsel for 8 bucks, just turned into an exotic snack for it.
 
Haha yeah these guys will eat anything, also don't try to pick him up as his little spikes behind the head are poisonous and would hurt quite a bit if he spiked you. Not enough poison to kill a human but swelling and pain are for sure :)

LOL, its funny that you say that, cause I have caught 5 by hand. won't be doing that again.
 
Might actually be a brackish lion fish.
 
So to keep one, what size tank would you recommend?

Overly large tanks aren't needed as these guys don't move around a whole lot, used to keep one back in the day. 70-125g+ should be plenty for life if that's what your thinking.
