It's really hard to call. With multiple mixed lineage, could be any combination of black rays. It does look like it may have henlei in the mix...but that's just a shot in the dark. Most likely has BD also. Still, it's anybody's guess! Great looking ray, and that's what is important!

It's a black ray is the only positive ID. No one can ID it but the breeder and in most cases even the breeders do not know these days. The perimeter spotting does look like there is some P14 in there some where. Nice little ray, enjoy it

tlindsey tlindsey ...

Im honored you tagged me in but my experience in identifying them is nothing comped to many other members!!
I take a guess for myself and then ask on this forum or read all the replies to see if i was on the right track and thus try learn as I go along

Be it as it may, i agree with what has been said
Her spots are quite big so i assume some bd...
But from the perimeter i agree possibly P14 mix as well

I think today, unless they come from a breeder that keeps the species in separate tanks or ponds, its almost impossible to know for sure

I do think its a very beautiful ray and I am sure she will get nicer and nicer as she grows
Good luck with her/him and enjoy

Thank you guys for all the info was just a bit curious as to what the breed would be. I know hes beautifull n its a male , aggressive eater feed them a variety of foods squid, clams, cut up silversides and prawns along with the other 2 male bd cross pups and very active rays.
