Hello,
Today i went to a zoo and in the aquarium section there was a beautiful display tank with angel fish, neon tetra, cardinal tetra, rummynose tetra, corydora,...
So a big community tank.
But there where a couple of fish i didnt really recognise. They look like cichlids.Screenshot_2023-07-27-20-03-36-180_com.miui.gallery.jpgScreenshot_2023-07-27-20-02-34-243_com.miui.gallery.jpgScreenshot_2023-07-27-20-01-23-446_com.miui.gallery.jpg
Can you guys help me out?
They look to be no more then 1.5inch, they stayed in a group of 4.
Help would be appreciated. Since i would like then in my home aquarium (if i have the right setup for them)
{Sorry for any vocabulary mistakes, English is not my native language}

Some kind of ob zebra mbuna. Something that shouldn't be in a south American community tank

Definitely mbuna cichlids. I’m not sure on the black one but the two spotted ones are orange blotch zebra cichlids (I believe just a morph of the standard red zebra). They are a larger mbuna (6-7 inches) and are pretty aggressive. They would be best in a 75+ gallon tank.
As said, they do not mix well with most South Americans, as they require much different water and are far meaner.

Thanks for the feedback,
I thought they weren't from South America, i would've recognized them.
Strange that they where in that tank tho

I think OB Peacocks. Possibly mbuna. African for sure.
I am inclined to say peacocks would be pointier, but given that angle there's a chance you could be right. I feel like peacocks would have bigger eyes higher up on the head though.

Either way, they could cause some issues with the other fish. Both are to aggressive for tankmate when full grown.
