hopefully the large price will give them enough time for a good aquarist to come to their rescue with a brackish tank.

The tragedy is that almost no one who goes there, and certainly not the store owners, will know that they require near-full marine conditions when they reach adulthood, and will likely die due to osmotic shock in a fresh- or low end brackish-water aquarium.
